About this test
About the Saudi Arabic Placement Test
The SaudiLingo Saudi Arabic Placement Test is a free online test that shows your level in the Saudi Arabic dialect.
It takes about 3 minutes, has no timer, and uses everyday spoken Saudi Arabic — not Modern Standard Arabic.
Your result places you on the path from Pre-A1 to B2 and shows what you can do now and your best next step.
You do not need to read Arabic script to take the test, and you see your result as soon as you enter your email.
Yes, SaudiLingo teaches the Arabic script. Arabic is the base of every SaudiLingo product: every phrase is written in Arabic script, and English-letter pronunciation sits beside it as a support, not a replacement. Pre-A1, the first level on our path, is about the Arabic letters and reading themselves.
Frequently asked questions
How long does the test take?
About 3 minutes. There is no timer, you can stop and come back, and you can choose “I am not sure” instead of guessing — that answer helps us place you, it does not count against you.
How many questions is it?
Six to begin with. If you are answering most of them correctly, you get six harder ones so we can place you accurately — so six questions, or twelve if you go further. One short question before that asks whether you read Arabic, so the test can adapt.
Do I need to read Arabic script?
No. The opening card shows one Arabic word and asks whether you can read it. If you cannot, every question after that stays in English letters, and nothing in the test needs the script.
Is it free, and do I need an account?
The test is free and there is no account. You enter your email at the end to see your result on the screen. The box asking to send you tips and offers is optional — leave it unticked and you still get your level.
How accurate is my result?
It places you from Pre-A1 to B2 using everyday spoken Saudi Arabic, not Modern Standard Arabic. Treat it as a starting point rather than an exam: a teacher confirms your level properly in the free 20-minute trial lesson.
What happens after I get my level?
You see your level, what you can already do and your next step. Beginners can start the self-paced Speak Saudi Arabic A1 video course. At any level, private Saudi Arabic lessons follow one path from Pre-A1 to B2, or you can book a free 20-minute trial lesson first.
